Very Easy to use once I figured out what to do ...
I had my barbour jacket for over 10 years and it had really suffered from a lack of being re-proofed.
The instructions which came with the Thornproof dressing turned out not to be the best method for re-proofing the jacket. However after doing some research, I found some links after googling "Barbour Thornproof Dressing Application".
I used an old white cotton sock with the end screwed up tight, boiled the can in a pan of water, and laid out an old sheet on an ironing board, and then quickly and easily reproofed the jacket by using quick strokes and really rubbing the wax in, and was done in 10 minutes. The jacket looked and worked the way it did 10 years ago!
The price is very reasonable and it arrived in 3 days with standard shipping.
Product received as advertised and on time
The Barbour Thornproof dressing is an excellent coating for my Barbour jackets, works as advertised and provides great durability.
Make's you Barbour coat like new!
This is like having a new coat in a tin.
Seriously! - applying this dressing to your old, worn Barbour coat will really help to restore the look, and make it feel like new.
The color will deepen, the sheen will return, and all the dry areas will be gone - water will sheet off the coat again. It also helps prevent cracking and chaffing and makes the cotton nice and supple.
I find it best to heat the wax slightly with a hair drier while it is in the tin, making it more of a liquid wax, then applying to the coat with a cotton cloth.
Being liquid makes it easy to spread, and it penetrates more easily. Using the wax cold takes much longer.
One tin will do two coats as they say, so it's a small investment for a full restoration job on your Barbour.
