above and beyond mixed this so that songs overlap. listening to songs individually just does'nt sound right.
What a waste of my money!!!
Downloaded this CD b/c of good reviews and was disappointed BIG TIME when didn't find one tune worth wasting time listening to. All stuff is monotonous, generic, mainstream and as someone else said "home made". Really sad considering that Above and Beyond had some great CDs in the past. Don't waste your money on this one... Try Tri-State 2008 remix instead...
A perfect album-with one exception...
This album has become one of the most played pieces of music on my iPod;Above & Beyond have created a beautiful,wide-ranging album that can be used as an energetic yet introspective soundtrack to whatever may be going on in the listener's world.The transition between "Safe" and "Mt. Everest" always produces chills,it is so perfect.
My only negative comment is about their choice of the song "Call of Loneliness";it's just that I personally find that particular song to be annoying,with warbled shrieks repeating over and over-they could have left that one out of this otherwise gorgeous mix(in my opinion!)
By the way-I would get this from Amazon if you are considering an MP3 download-the version sold on iTunes is missing the last song;in fact rather than including the last song ("Farenheit") it is absent,and the FIRST song ("Pink Houses")is repeated...
This is quality trance.
If you're looking for a fantastic trance experience, you can't go wrong with this one. Very gentle take-offs accompanied by long, ultra-cool glides, Above and Beyond does it again. Disc 1 has some seriously classy music-telling. Disc 2 is the icing, however.
So So
I enjoy listening to Above and Beyond, but this CD isn't their best one. Most songs were just kind of chill and not really hard trance, and it wasn't funky either thankfully. It's a easy listening CD. I wanted more than that though, with A&B's rep.
