Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
"We wanted a tough album," producer Quincy Jones recalls in a bonus interview on this special edition of Bad. Though the 1987 blockbuster would appear to be Michael Jackson's most personal statement to date--9 of its 11 cuts were written solely by him--its appeal also rested more on craft than the idiosyncratic art of Thriller and Off the Wall. At the same time, most of Bad has aged well in spite of its digital brittleness and MIDI treatments of gems like Jimmy Smith's organ solo on the title track. While the third best of his first three Epic solo discs, Bad carries a lot of what people love about Jackson's music. This disc also benefits from two fine outtakes, the exciting, uptempo "Streetwalker" and the Carpenters homage "Fly Away." Either could easily have extended the record's run of hit singles. --Rickey Wright

Really
I like MJ, he was a talented performer, and extremely popular. His music while not challenging, was fun to listen to and had a good beat. But when you break it all down he was a performer and little more. The only real impact he ever made was in the arena of entertainment. Think about all the people who affect life in this country on a very real level. Policy makers, builders, architects who design wonderful things, firemen etc. When they die nobody really cares. Jackson has been dead for a couple months now right? Why is he still in the paper? What about Ted Kennedy? He was a senator for decades and nobody gives a damn. what the hell is wrong with this picture?

Michael at his best!
Whhat's the difference between a good album and a GREAT album? A good album has a few stand-out songs and once you've purchased it you feel like you've made a pretty good investment, but after a few weeks or months you lose interest in it. Now, a great album is a totally different experience. A great album is one that you can put in your CD player and let run from beginning to end and not skip any songs because they are all just that good. A great album transcends time and the music never sounds dated. A great album is one that even if you don't listen to it often, you must have in your collection because it is an investment and not just a mere purchase. Bad is a GREAT album. From start to finish, you'll be hard pressed to choose just one song as your favorite. I have 3 favorites actually: Liberian Girl, Smooth Criminal, and Leave Me Alone. If you are a Michael Jackson fan, Bad is a must-have. If you are a music fan, Bad is also a must-have. The title is definitely appropriate, he was a Bad man! (in a good way) Long live the King of Pop!!

Good CD
My Grandparents got me alot of MJ stuff after he died to make me feel better. This is one of my favorites.

Bad Michael Jackson
I have the cassette tape of Bad and had decided it was time to purchase the CD. I love listening to music and it so happens this CD is "BAD."

Great Shopping Experience
We originally ordered this CD, BAD, from another company. After two weeks, the item still hadn't shipped even though they had charged me for it. I cancelled the order and reordered BAD from this vendor. I received the CD in less than a week and my wife and I are extremely pleased with the CD. We got excellent service, a wonderful CD, and at a good price. Thanks AMAZON.
