I like the CD very much however the seller said it was like new look more like the case had been stepped on and crushed CD was fine but the case was trashed.

If you like R&B, soul, or any of Maxwell's previous albums, get this album NOW. It is probably my favorite cd of 2009, and I think the song Pretty Wings is an instant classic. I think the fact that it only has 9 cuts is actually a good thing. It just adds to the overall complete package - no fluff, no bad songs, just awesome, soulful, heartfelt music.
once again soul for the heart
both maxwell and ginuwine have kept it skillful and soulful in their new efforts... especially maxwell on this one. the music is pure and raw in r and b and is mellow something def to zone out and relax to while listening. each track is different and has its own personality which is something you dont see to much in music especially r and b and hip hop these days. this has more of a jazzy feel to it which is why i say it is a lil more soulful than ginuwine's new cd but they are both equally pleasing to the ear. great cd go get it. the only complaint is that it is only a 9 track cd not even an lp so that the only drawback.

I absolutely love this cd and it is definitely a tease with only 9 tracks! To be honest, I really did not believe that Maxwell would ever make another cd. He just simply fell off the face of the earth to rediscover the music, reinvite his self and live life. It is one of my favorite cds to date. This cd is a soundtrack to my current relationship from Playing Possum to a Pretty Wings. And Phoenix Rise plays as a reminder to those things I need to rise up for.

What can one actually say about this man and his talents? This man has a way of doing his thing, tellin about it, and then admiting that it's alright for a man to admit falling head over heels for HIS WOMAN! WHOA! Another one that my husband and I can't get enough of. He's coming to Chicago in October and I am going nuts as to our being able to obtain tickets for his concert. THis man also should be given the title of Artist of the Year as a male, and included in every last award show (except country). This man is truly like wine, he continues to get better with the passing time. What's next? OMG, just drifting.
