Peter, Paul and Mary weren't the first folk group to scale the music charts in the early 1960s, but they were far and away the most commercially successful. Carry It On is a four-CD (plus one DVD) box set that gathers all of their hits, along with generous helpings of rarities, B-sides, and previously unreleased songs. Although they had a magical vocal sound, a camera-ready image, and strong songwriting chops of their own, perhaps the trio's greatest strength was their ability to recognize outstanding songs from then-unknown composers. They were the first major group to cover songs by Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Laura Nyro, John Denver, and Tom Paxton, which helped introduce the work of these songwriters to a wider audience. loving all the memories
the album we purchased well lets just say it brought back so many wonderful memories of my days in Ocean City, New Jersey, a bunch of kids my age would go to Shrivers pier and sing all the folk songs of the time, mostly Peter, Paul and Mary songs. i love to sing along to the music even now. it is just great to be able to hear the music when ever i want. it is a terrific album, and all of us miss Mary and can not believe she is gone. God Bless!

I bought this cd set when it was a pbs fundraiser,for I think $175,plus a year of newsletters. The sound quality is great.The mix of their songs is good, all their hits,plus a few not so much ,that are great. There are lots of pages of pics and why they choose certain songs.I did see them in the 60's,this sounds just like then.I will miss them,miss Mary. There is a small dvd included of about eight songs. Exceptional album
Though my wife and I lived through the PP&M music era, we didn't appreciate their talent and breadth at the time. Every track in this box set is a delight in itself.

This is a great collection of Peter, Paul and Mary songs. Covers a wide range of topics from the earliest songs of protest as well as their newer material. In a word it is comprehensive. It also includes a DVD which will bring back many good memories. If you are a Peter, Paul and Mary fan you won't want to miss this collection!Carry It On Remember
This is an absolutely great CD. it has most of the songs that PP&M have ever sung. It will take days to listen to all of them. Share them with your kids, cry and laugh as you relive those moments in time that we all shared in trying to make the world a better place. Everyone should take the time to revisit the past and enjoy the songs that make you feel good.
