New Album
I bought the new album. Been a relient k fan for a while. Loved the previous album and also like to listen to their older stuff. It definetly moves you. This new album is alright, i don't think this is one of their best ones. I really liked the previous album if it had to compare both.
This album starts out with one of my fav song from this album.lively and a little foot tapping. And it ends with a slow song with kinda ends the album.
If you like relient k or just like to try to listen to something new i would definetly recomend it.But if you haven't bought any other ones i would suggest buy the previous 2 albums.
Amazingly different.
"Forget and Not Slow Down" is different from some of the latest Relient K albums. The music doesn't have any of the pop-sounding electic piano like Matt T. used in "Five Score and Seven Years Ago." Although it is different, I love it! Especially the song, "Sahara." It goes back to there hard punk side, which most fans miss. I give it a thumbs up!
Best Relient K album ever!
I have been an avid Relient K fan since their very first album. Hands down this is the best album I have ever heard! As a musician, I tend to critique songs pretty harsh but I have to say that just about ever song on this album is nearly perfect. Since this is the first full length album that Ethan Luck has laid down the drum tracks I had a chance to finally compare his style to Dave Douglas' style and I have to say that Ethan's drumming really adds something that has been missing on the past few RK albums. Don't get me wrong, I loved Dave's drumming style and skill but he sometimes went to technical with his drumming whereas Ethan seems to simplify without taking away from the music. I am a firm believer that less is more (not all of the time but most of the time.) The crystal clear clarity of the piano and guitar tracks is superb to anything I have ever heard. The sounds do not bleed together like they tend to do when they are overly compressed. The vocals and harmonies are crisp and not overly filtered. Overall the engineering of this album is nothing short of amazing! If you have not bought this album yet do yourselves a favor and buy two copies: one for you and the other to give away as an early Christmas gift because as soon as your friends hear it they are going to want to borrow yours and never give it back.
You need this album! Buy it!
I've been a fan of Relient K for about 5 years now and I have to say that this was my most anticipated release. As a result, I had high hopes for this album. Five Score And Seven Years Ago (the previous LP they released) is one of my favorite albums of all time, so I wasn't sure if they'd be able to top it or not. I shouldn't have been surprised at all when they did. Relient K always manages to go above and beyond what they've already accomplished. They're truly a band that is constantly growing and maturing. As for this album, you DO NOT want to go another day without it. Although nearly all the songs are "break-up songs" it still has a very positive feel to it. Most of the tracks are upbeat, although there are a few slower numbers. Overall, though, this is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Buy it! You'll be sorry if you don't!
Exceeds expectations!
I waited months and months for this new album to come out, and it was definitely worth every second of the wait. I'll admit that I was thoroughly surprised by the difference in sound of the music, but Relient K is still as great as ever-the new styles show that they can master all types of music. The lyrics to every song are so beautiful and completely relevant to everyone and anyone, and I guarantee that at least one of the songs will be stuck in your head for a very long time. Trust me, it's awesome, and don't hesitate in purchasing this album. It's totally worth it!
