      Hello Hurricane

Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
Switchfoot is an alternative rock band from San Diego, CA. They are known for their energetic live shows, the three guitarists in the line-up often operate simultaneously, building on the pop sensibilities of Foreman's songwriting, rounded out by Fontamillas's work on the synthesizer, bringing his industrial roots to the sound, the band works up 'the Switchfoot sound'- a melodic crunch of densely layered sound featuring some electronic experimentation, and often driven by hard-charging guitar riffs, while throwing in a few softer ballads as well.

Reviews:

Switchfoot at their finest
As a big fan of Switchfoot, I had a lot of expectations when Hello Hurricane was released. Almost 3 months later, I can safely say that the album does not disappoint. In fact, Switchfoot proves that they are masters of all sorts of styles, from heart-wrenching ballads like Yet and Always to crowd-pumping tunes like Bullet Soul and Mess of me, to everything in between. Again, almost 3 months after its release (with a lot of heavy listening), this record just hasn't gotten old. In fact, songs that I wasn't crazy about at first like Enough to Let Me Go have really grown on me. Other songs just keep seeming better and better, like the epic, driving Free. I still can't choose a favorite track on this album- each one is top-quality. Even if you're not a Switchfoot fan, or you stopped listening to them after The Beautiful Letdown, or you're just curious and looking for new music- this album is a must-have for your music collection. It's a whole new sound for an already amazing band, and it will not disappoint.

What can I say-it's Switchfoot
I loved this band the minute I heard them years ago. This is just another great recording by a great band. CHECK IT OUT

Great Album!
This album is a little more Rock-n-Roll then normal, but it's a great album from a great group of guys! Buy it!

Latest= Second Greatest!
I got Hello Hurricane about two weeks after its release, it has now been over a month that I have had it, and it is one of my favorites. One of the reasons I really like The Beautiful Letdown and New Way to Be Human is because they start out on a high tempo, with Meant To Live, and New Way To Be Human, respectively. This one somewhat disappoints in that department with Needle And Haystack Life. Not really uptempo. Reminds me of Lonely Nation, the opening track on Nothing Is Sound. Also, for your info, I don't really care that much for Oh! Gravity.. Well, basically, the best songs on this album are #2, Mess Of Me, #4, The Sound (The best song on this album and possibly the best 'Foot song of all time) and #9, Bullet Soul. Mess Of Me is about making a mess of your life early on, but turning (or at least trying to turn) it around later. The Sound doesn't have a particular message, but it is a VERY COOL song. Bullet Soul sounds like Adding To The Noise, from TBL, and not a particular message here either. None of the other songs are particularly noteworthy, but still good. They're pretty much all slower. If you've heard the title track from TBL, you'll know what I'm talking about. This is a really good CD, though the cover art, as with all other Switchfoot albums, is kind of strange (seagulls, or whatever they are?). One other thing, as I'm listening now to the beginning of the eleventh track, it has kind of a western, Ghostriders in The Sky kind of sound. Just an interesting speculation. This album is highly reccommended; TBL is still better- but not by much. GET IT!!!

I love this album
This album has grown on me the more I listen to it. The lyrics are powerful, relevant, moving and refreshingly non-cheesy. The music is original with some novel ideas, which I have come to appreciate and enjoy the more I listened to it. Basically, this album is a must-have for every Switchfoot fan, and is definitely worth its weight in legal tender.
