Prodcut Description: [More Information ...]
For such a boldly titled and apparently driven attempt to reinstate Michael Jackson at the center of the pop world, Invincible is a listless thing. Split between scratchy funk workouts and midtempo ballads that might have appeared as Bad B-sides, the album plays on and on while never seriously promoting dancing or romancing. Its handful of weird moments--the resurrection-by-tape of Biggie Smalls on the bridge of the title track, for instance--are hardly large-scale bizarre like the first disc of HIStory. The title track turns out to be hardly the rampant egofest you'd imagine; instead, its subject is a female whom Jackson cheers on. Likewise, the most ear-catching moments of the "comeback" single "You Rock My World" come with Chris Tucker's jivey introduction. Despite a debt to "Payback"-era James Brown, "Rock" floats away like steam midway through. It's almost a relief when the old self-regard turns up: on the growling "Privacy," Jackson rants about muckrakers "stalking" him in search of "the stories you need to bury me," all this long after foundering divas and troubled boy-group members have replaced him on tabloid covers. The man may occasionally break away from the mirror but seems unsure where else to find inspiration. --Rickey Wright

Reviews:

Very Good
I was surprised to find that I liked this album. It is some of MJ"s best work.

invincible
MJ may be gone but his music is invincible. I remember when this first came out. Totally panned by critics. Should never listen to critics. This is exquisite. Not kiddie pop. Makes me wonder what would have come next. MJ's crazy life overshaddowed his music. But what a life it was! Mike, this world is too cold for one as beautiful as you. RIP.

Delightful Suprise
I purchased the cd after hearing the single 2000 Watts. WOW! Is all that I can say. I wanted to enjoy songs from Michael Jackson which were a modern version of Bad and this is exactly what I received. I must play songs from this cd in all of my mixed cd's, it is just that good! You can't lose if you enjoy MJ's music. Rest in peace, rest in peace.

Legacy
This was really not a bad CD. I enjoyed most of the songs. I would have gotten this earlier; however, I was listening to the reviews regarding this CD, which I normally do not do, and never got around to purchasing it. Will not do that again!

The Last Album for Michael Jackson to be collected
I am fans from Hong Kong. Honestly, the "Invincible" Album was not hit here in Hong Kong; also no introduction by D.J. I just knew the songs of this album thru internet. Actually, some of songs are still great, such as: Speechless (I love this song the most, because the lyrics are very touching) You Rock My World Privacy The Lost Children You Are My Life Unbreakable Cry As Michael's fans, I would collect this also, as this was the last album (issued in 2001) that Michael issued in his life; then after all other albums issued were just collections of his old songs. I recommend to buy his CD, as because I love his booklet inside CD, which is priceless and very valuable that you can never find on Download. I used to listen his songs everyday so far, and sometimes cry or very sad. The world is getting emptier without Michael. I miss him very much. He is always KING OF POP.
