Paul Potts
It is a pleasure to follow this young man's story, it's what we all wish for.
Magnificent
It is such a pleasure to listen to Paul sing. He is my favourite and what this cd has to offer is no exception. Bring on more please and soon!
True Passione
This guy has a charisma about him coupled with humility and the voice of an angel. I am an opera fan and have heard them all even the oldies, Corelli, et. al., but this guy looks out over the audience and opens his mouth and this voice that captivates you and holds on to you to the end. Singing "Memories" in Italian was a treat and I am sure not an easy task.
He acknowledges the fact that he felt like singing is what he was born to do. I believe in the two albums, he has proven this fact. From a Mobile phone warehouse man to giving the world this voice, is just incredible. He has sold over 2 millions CD's thus far.
I watched the audition on television and was a little scared for him. When the music started and it was Nissen Dorma , I knew what notes he had to hit and he did it with gusto and much more ease then some tenors I have seen on stage. What a gift this man has.
Paul Potts returns with a better product
I reviewed the first album quite favorably. Paul Potts' second album is a notch up, but it still has some maddening inconsistencies that make me wonder what Sony is thinking. In the first album, Mr. Potts, allowed his diction to flag, which was a pity since many of the songs were delivered in otherwise good tone and in a committed way. This new album includes no English or Spanish. It's Italian from top to bottom, although there are some delights that we normally hear in English. The album is quite lovely, with good and clear recording technics, and spacious sound. Full text is provided - a plus. A song, Mamma, is the same song heard in English (as Mama) on Il Divo's first album.
Mr. Potts' voice is a tad too open (spread?) in the upper middle voice. I hope he addresses this in lessons. Still he accesses the higher notes with considerable ease. His Italian diction is much better this time around. He is clearly inside the music and enjoys conveying the meaning of the text to the listener. The only problem I find with this CD also occurred in the first CD. Each and every song (but not quite in the arias) begins relatively softly and rises to almost earsplitting. This is exciting three or four times, but 10 times in a row it wears thin. I would love to see Mr. Potts tackle the opera aria "Una furtiva lagrima" by Donizetti, Tosti's "Ideale" and Donaudy's "O del mio amato ben." They each carry passion with them, but they would allow for Paul Potts' voice to shine more thrillingly without the need to be blasting at full tilt just to be heard over the considerable layers of accompaniment.
Paul Potts Passione
This is another perfect cd from the most talented singer in the world. I have never heard anyone sing with so much feeling and so much heart! Paul Potts is still the same humble man he used to be. This wealth has not changed him one bit. He is the best and has a God given talent to sing the way he does!~ No one can do what he does with any song!
