The Boss left these songs OFF his records???
To consider that Springsteen discarded these songs from inclusion on his albums makes me even more amazed at his talent. These are hardly cast offs. In fact, they could and should be albums in their own right.
Lots of gems, all of which are revelatory both by providing just more Springsteen songs to the repetoire, but also some rare live performances from the early years, before fame made them larger than life.
A must have collection for fans.
Bruce Springsteen (Tracks Boxset)
this is by far the best box set Bruce Springsteen has ever released.
its amazin it just shows how great of a song writter Bruce really is.
I own all of his albums this too me is his best work, even though I love all of his other work.
Each of the 4 c.d.'s could have been a standout single release
I purchased this set when it was released in '98 and listened to it a couple of times, liked it, and then didn't listen to it again until April of 2009.
Maybe I have too many c.d.'s, or possibly my 4 kids diverted my attention, but I can't believe I'd forgotten how good this collection is.
It's difficult to summarize a 66 track set, but from '72 through '95 Springsteen's artistic powers were such that even the unreleased material exemplified here is uniformly excellent and only comparable to the first volumes of the Dylan Bootleg series. This boxed set is truly a stunning achievement.
Great Collection Of Outtakes and B-sides By The Boss
TRACKS is a great collection of outtakes by Bruce Springsteen, with some B-sides thrown in for good measure. Picking out highlights is pointless, as most of what's here is great, even if the idiosyncrasies that kept it from being released on an album before 1998 are easily discernible. This is a set that you must own.
Somebody Elses Songs
If some guy named Joe Smith had made these four+ albums over a twenty year period he would have sold millions of albums and been famous. And this is the trash, shows you how amazing of a writer Springsteen was. This music stands on its own merit. Top notch Bruce here in all kinds of sounds and styles. A must have collection if you love Bruce. Sad to see he became a weak minded brainwashed Liberal who hates the USA in his old age. Oh but in his prime he was THE BOSS.
